Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he
leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes
my soul. He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake. Even though I walk
through the darkest valley, I will fear no
evil, for you are with me; your rod and
your staff, they comfort me. You prepare
a table before me in the presence of my
enemies. You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows. Surely your goodness
and love will follow me all the days of
my life, and I will dwell in the house
of the Lord forever.

Refresh My Soul
When a man sins or suffers, it harms his soul. We need to have our souls refreshed and restored. When our soul is refreshed, we feel really good and happy. We are restored to the way we felt when we were kids. During the refreshing process, a person might cry and repent of sins or mistakes. The key part of this process is meditation. (see below) The following things help to refresh our souls:
• Ask God for help with this
• Sit by a stream and meditate
• Go to a beach and meditate
• Go to a park and meditate
• Climb a mountain and meditate
• Listen to instrumental music
• Look at the beauty of trees
• Go on vacation
• Go boating
• Go sailing
• Go fishing
• Go hiking
• Play golf
• Do some gardening
• Enjoy a coffee while meditating
What is Meditation?
Meditating is sitting alone and pondering things in your life. Sometimes you just sit and wait for God to talk to you and help you. In that case, you don't try to think about things, it just happens. Meditating works best if you listen to beautiful instrumental music and go somewhere scenic. When you do this, God gives you thoughts and ideas that are important to you and your life. People repent and cry when meditating. See, we don't only repent of sins, we also repent of mistakes. If you don't meditate it is harder for God to help you as you are busy and distracted by things you are doing. You need to do nothing in order to open your mind up to God's help. The cool thing is, if you meditate really deeply God will give you an amazing and fun vision. In the vision, you will fly through the air beside God. The vision normally lasts from 5 minutes to 45 minutes. When you have a vision, it looks and feels like it is really happening. Just to let you know, we fall asleep right before watching the vision. So technically we are not awake while we are flying.
Why Do We Cry?
Crying is part of the healing process. There are four reasons we cry during the process of refreshing our souls. Here are the four reasons:
• We mourn our past/current suffering
• We are moved by something good
• We are repenting of a sin
• We are repenting of a mistake
What is Repentance?
You have a change of opinion or heart regarding a sin or mistake. A sin is a bad mistake. When our heart changes, our behavior is automatically fixed, and we no longer make that mistake. In the Bible, it is written: "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance." If you don't stop making the mistake then you didn't repent! Repentance is necessary to become a Christian and be saved.
